02 Who we are

The badge reads Ashok Leyland. The lineage is pure Leyland.

Ride a country bus in the seventies or eighties and you would remember a Leyland bus that simply refused to give up. Those buses moved a generation between Nairobi, Kisumu, Mombasa and every shopping centre in between.

That name never left. Founded in 1948, Ashok Leyland, the flagship of the Hinduja Group, is today one of the world's largest commercial vehicle manufacturers and the 4th largest bus maker globally, sold and serviced in Kenya by Simba Corporation.

Every unit is specified for how Kenya actually works: murram and marram, Mombasa Road traffic, escarpment climbs, quarry sites, sugar and tea routes, matatu and school runs, and long stretches between service points. Nothing about these vehicles is theoretical.
